TOWN COUNCIL

Bio: Deborah Magaro-Dolan is running for re-election as Councilor on the Town of Clay Board. A near-lifelong resident, Deborah moved to Clay in 1980 and has been deeply involved in the community ever since.
After years as a stay-at-home mom, Deborah returned to the workforce in 2019 and now serves as a Specification Writer in the Onondaga County Division of Purchase, helping ensure fiscal responsibility for taxpayers.
A dedicated volunteer, Deborah has led and supported numerous community initiatives, including fundraising for the Bishop Foery Foundation, Labrador Mountain Ski Club, and the Bayberry Community Association, where she’s held roles such as president, board member, and event planner. She’s also active in Epiphany Parish and involved in local election efforts, serving as Deputy Chair of the Town of Clay Republican Committee and a member of CNY Republican Women.
During her time on the Town of Clay Board, Deborah has helped deliver key improvements, including:
- A new roof and HVAC system for Town Hall
- LED lighting upgrades at Town Hall and town parks
- Restoration of facilities at Clay Park Central
- Completion of Memorial Park, dedicated Memorial Day 2025
- Organizational improvements, such as separating Code Enforcement from the Planning Department for greater efficiency
She also serves on the Town’s Land Use Study Committee and Planning Commissioner Search Committee, all while helping maintain a no-increase tax rate.
Deborah holds degrees from SUNY Oswego (B.A. in Psychology) and Syracuse University (M.A. in Child and Family Studies). She and her husband Steve have lived in Liverpool for decades, raising their sons Joseph and Jacob, both Liverpool High School graduates.
